I make it a habit to check out the naming trends of every year. It’s fun to see how much pop culture influences parents when it comes time to naming their kids.

Quinn- the Glee club cheerleader- has enjoyed a whopping 60% jump in popularity last year and came close to cracking the top 100 names of 2010. (Even though I’m pregnant, occasionally I write down names I would like to name my kids. Quinn was one of them. It’s unique and pretty just like the Glee character.) Other names from the show are also climbing fast. Finn, Jenna, Lea

Twilight- Jacob, Isabella/Bella

and what about Jayden? as in Will Smith’s son who starred in The Karate Kid with Jackie Chan?

The name Sarah is on the decline due to the “Sarah Palin effect”.
